Superconductivity is not a useless phenomenon since mri scanners are very effective because of superconductivity. However, the big question is: Will it ever reach the commercial potential that everyone thinks it will ? In IMG's 10K they state that development of HTS is 5 to 10 years away and is dependent on further advances in technology. Until HTS develops, IMG is involved in commodity businesses which face shrinking margins, hence the $6 share price. I've been waiting on this stock for nearly 16 years.
