off topic: sw earning - pls. correct me.
I think I understand re: sw earning, but i am not sure about
reporting. I understand that maintence fee can be rcvd for the
whole yr but reported only as delivered.
QUESTION:
1. Must maintance earning be reported every Qurter as delivered?
2. Can it be reported ahead of time?
3. Can it be reported in future Qurters???
i.e. if xyz company pays MSFT $100 in jan for support FOR yr '97. What
flexibilities does msft have in terms of reporting. If Msft
has bad Q2 then can they lump $75.00(for Q2,3,4) as Q2 income?
As a customer I have the right to cancel Q3, Q4 service and thus
ask for my money back.
I DON"T understand what does having lots of cash have anything to
do with hidden earning?
