Gilder is good, but you have to remember that he put Java on the map, and is a little over enthusiastic about it.

Java has a fatal flaw as a Business language, IMO. From what I have read, it is a translation program. The first thing it does is translate everything it runs into Java and then back out. It is generically slower than Microsoft because of this, and can never run as fast.
