But don't you think Intel's management sees that and that's why they are pushing all these initiatives? What amazes me is how people speculate that Intel's margins/revenues/profits will fall 'cause PC's are cheaper, growth slowing etc. That assumes that the world class managers at Intel will sit on their hands and watch it happen. I don't think so.

My opinion is that Intel is using their network products business to put pressure on competitors to lower pricing in the category. When someone starts doing to the network business what Compaq did to the PC business, Intel may change its strategy. JMHO.

There is not need for Intel to become a boxmaker, since there is fierce competition in that business and the consumer is benefiting.
