Wow, Uh Gordon let me think here.

I contend that now might be the perfect time to go on the offensive and make the argument in the media that an armed populace is a safer and more peaceful place than this "Pollyanna" society being foisted on us by the "gun-control" mob.

There is not one person in the US who wants to hear we NEED to be armed. I just can't get around that point. That is one point when I argue about concealed carry that I stumble on. Why? In a civilized world it is not required. Ergo, to support it, you must believe that we are not as civilized
as we should or could be. This bothers me.

I realize you might need a really strong spokesman or perhaps several, but this silly thread has answered the question of "Do handguns serve a purpose other than killing people?" and the most obvious answer was that "they keep people from killing other people."

This is a great argument and point! However I keep going back to the idea behind that position. You have to accept there are people out there, bad guys if you will and we need to be armed. I KNOW this is true and I think it is unfortunate, but the general populace does not want to admit this. We are in a social issue here and these answers are tough.
