My two cents on CMGI ..............

I don't own this stock and was tempted to buy it a month ago simply because of its "net asset" value. I think everybody here knows what I'm talking about. I haven't though because I'm concerned that all of these companies in its portfolio may have a much lower perceived value than I had originally thought. Plus, there is a good possibility that CMGI will piss away A LOT of its cash supporting all of its investments. I think that a lot of Internet investors (public and private) have come to the conclusion that there will be a lot more losers on the Internet than winners. CMGI's value relative to Lycos is only meaningful if you believe in Lycos long-term. The stock doesn't act like it has a lot of believers. Has anybody here really crunched the CMGI numbers and figured out what (if anything) some of its properties are worth? I know that Geo Cities and Planet Direct seem interesting on the surface but can they become money-makers?
