And I believe very strongly waiting period and doing thorough checking before giving out licenses.<< Sometimes it helps to put things in the positive. What do you believe? Is the 2nd amendment a dusty old statute, what about the 1st? I am supposing by license you mean a license to carry a gun and not a license to own one. You wouldn't want to have to go get a license to speak at your city council meeting, or to start up your own neighborhood newsletter or pass around a petition to redress your grievances or assemble with your political friends to discuss campaign strategy. These rights all come from the same tree. Is the tree dead? Have you told your kids before they are fed this "non-sense?" I am sincere that you should occasionally consider these rights and their "bloody" heritage.
