When economists and luminaries have used the term "new era" in the past, the term has been used to indicate that "traditional economic principles" no longer apply.

We may be in a new technology era - and we may be in a new era in terms of how money flows (electronically through the internet). But factors that are used to determine supply and demand, as well as prices are still the same. Thus, we are not in a new era in terms of economics.

Unless, of course, you buy the hype.

Thanks,
-Eric
