If you take this scientific route to everything, eventually the sun will supernova, life on earth, and very likely earth itself will be gone. And with our diminishing resources and lack of progress in the field of space exploration, we will be an isolated species, unless some benevolent alien lifeforms come along to help us advance. So your lineage will be cut off regardless. I guess you'll just have to hope for those aliens. As for me, I believe there is something more to come after life ends.
