This whole Ballmer flap really amuses me. I took a big hit today but I am not angry at Ballmer for stating the facts. Microsoft has repeatedly stated that it thought that its stock and the industry as a whole were overvalued. A 68 PE historically can be viewed as very large. Ballmer's responsibility to Microsoft shareholders is maintained by his statements, in that Microsoft wants its stock to grow steadily and not get overheated an run up a ton and then sag back a ton. A small hit today is right to maintain long term growth. Daytraders don't count, not even one little bit!
