Highlights of a most recent E-data article on Computerworld Magazine.

Other than good and bad news/information already posted in this thread, June 3, 1996 issue of the Computerworld Magazine, has the following to say:

1. Dave Collings, president of InfoOnline consulting firm specializes in electronic software distribution bluntly stated "this patent is BS,".

2. "Critics said the patent is overly broad and may not be enforceable".

3. "For big companies, it is often cheaper to settle than to pay expensive legal fees. In turn, the plaintiff often uses the big-name settlements to prod smaller firms to settle."

Computerworld is one of the highly respected magazines for the information industry and is only available to enterprise professionals and others through subscription. All public library I know of carries a copy in its periodical reference section. The above article can be found on page 6 of this issue.
