Now JLA, didn't we all know this was coming? Not a big surprise.

From what I've heard the $700 billion plus was 1/3 of the "surplus". Both the Republicans in Congress and Bubba agree on what to do with the 2/3s, save......what ever. It's the sticky 1/3 that is the problem. Republicans want to give it back and that ain't a bad idea, tax revenues would actually increase as they have under every tax cut.

Bubba wants a "legacy" other than being impeached over blow jobs and how history treats his cover up bombing foreign policy. He's a liberal and as such can only think of how to put himself in the best light historically is to start giving your money away in new spending programs.

He has also said that the tax payers wouldn't spend the dollars as well as his programs will. That popped up and got squished in no time. Two lawyers in there 50s with the highest government pension need a co-signer to buy a starter house, and they know finances better than you?

What may happen is the Republicans get a back bone and nix all the new spending proposals. That be the hard part, finding that back bone and standing up to Bubba's bull. Then what would happen is the debt would be lessoned.

The National Debt would shrink. Now here's a good move. It will be an accident but we may lower the debt. Greenspan loves the idea and he's pretty sharp on finance. I don't like that 30% of my taxes go to servicing the debt. I never borrow in my personal finances so why do I want to pay federal interest?

The trick is for the Republicans to nix every spending package he submits. Then that 1/3 goes to reducing the debt and not to tax cuts, which have been vetoed, or new spending.
