Gary, Just showing that the blunder wasn't with Russo but your misunderstanding of the article. Lucent "either already has or will soon have what Cisco is acquiring." was the Russo statement. The Cerent and Montery products are a subset of optical products that Lucent "either already has or will soon have". Should we talk about the DWDM products that Cisco doesn't have. So back to the article, purchasing two companies doesn't make you an expert in the optical area. Lucent Microelectronic makes COMMUNICATION devices. Let face facts, you don't know the first thing covered in the CSCO/LU settlement. Your guessing of how the settlement effects Cerent and Montery isn't worth the time.... until later.
