Oct MSFT calls, you mean?

Absolutely. It may create that opportunity for way out of the money calls--leading into the FED meeting and then the earnings reports. I am not expecting the big players like Intel and MSFT to warn. Actually, Ballmer's comments and the statement by MSFT later--hints that things are OK with MSFT's quarter. The more attractive buy could still be the Intel Octobers simply because the earnings are out before expiration and the stock has sold off a lot. That is one stock i would expect has a huge increase in short interest this month due to the non-preannouncement of positive earnings everyone was expecting. Will these shorts hold through earnings; i doubt it. In the analysts estimates for Intel, Ashok Kumar is expecting higher than the upper range of earnings (and he used to work at Intel). Remember that call by Dan Niles on Dell. I would note that Kumar got it right even before Niles. I trust Kumar over SG Cowen that has been making negative comments on Intel today.
It will be a toss between MSFT and INTEL so I might try both if the stocks stabilize at these levels for a week OR go down tomorrow. Otherwise i will just stick with the few QCOM Octobers that i hold.
