Tom, you are the one who is misleading readers. You must work for Merrill. I know this goes against the grain of everything that has been preached to you, but they were calling for a market selloff last October at Dow 7600-7800. On CNBC. Literally, within two days the market started shooting up. And said the Dow was going to 6200.

After that, they reiterated their bearishness, again on CNBC, at Dow 9200. In fact, they did it several times after and in between.

You can dispute this all you want, but I remember the calls vividly. In fact, we can call Joe Kernen tomorrow and get a definative answer if you wish to press the issue.

In fact, now that I think about it, Merrill's chief strategist was on either CNBC or CNNfn one morning in the past 3 weeks (can't remember which network) and admitted that he'd totally flubbed on his bearish calls.
