Merrill most certainly was bearish last Autumn. The failure to reverse and turn bullish got Chuck Clough fired. However, they had already sold in the summer at much higher levels. You cannot sell what you do not own.

CNBC is rabidly bullish. Most self-respecting analysts have stopped appearing on the network because of the ridiculous bias. Richard Russell is one of the premier market analysts around, with a great track record. He has been shunning CNBC because of the unprofessional behavior.
