Robert: Well here in greece i can easily buy a k5-166....for 20$ more than cyrix 6x86-166pr (not ..L...) .K5's is a much more matute cpu than 6x86.This is my personal opnion based on a lot of experience in building system based on 6x86s and k5s..I have seen many 6x86 systems gfailing after a while.. but not a k5.K5-133pr is a really great cpu beacuse it has much better fpu perfomance compared to cyrix 6x86 and k5 has greater 32bit perfomance..than 6x86..I have seen k5s-133pr outperfoming cyrix 6x86-150pr easily... k5 compared to 6x86 has much more complex architecture The main disadvantage 6x86s have is their slow fpu.. a k5 133pr has a faster fpu than a .. 6x86-166pr.This is really silly. All right great fpu perfonamce isn't what a usual user wants..but 6x86 perfoms vey badly... there.. I have bought in the past cyrix cpus.. and there are really ok but they are generally inferior to Amd's (take 486s.. take k5 vs 6x86...) I think m2 will be less powerful than k6 because: k6 has mainly the same architecture as k5.. but it also has mmx.. it is based on risk core..while m2 like 6x86 is working native x86... K5 is proven to outperfom 6x86 in the same mhz.. k6 has smaller die size than m2..and this means that k6 can work at higher mhz.. k6 is 8.8 m transistors.. while m2 is just 6m... m2 according to cyrix is only 32bit optimised.. while k6 is both 16bit and 32 bit optimised... I don't think cyrix's up to produce a stronger cpu than k6..since.. k6 is consider by some even better than p2... Best regards Andrew
