This would be a good place to do some research on fall foliage. It's part of the Yankee Magazine's "New England" website. It's quite a handy place for doing travel research.

If you do happen to go to Vermont, some great places to visit are:

* Shelburne Museum if you like Americana such as quilts, hooked rugs, decoys, rare carousel carvings, etc... Their collections are superb and are housed in heritage buildings.

* Shelburne Farm to see some very extraordinary "barns" and rural architecture.

* If you like horses, don't miss the University of Vermont's Morgan Horse Farm

* And if you enjoy seeing high quality work by artisans, visit the Frog Hollow Gallery which is operated by an artists' cooperative. They have galleries in Middlebury, Manchester and Burlington.

* And if you like Ben & Jerry's ice cream... well, you can always go on their factory tour....(-:
