RESEARCH ALERT - Speedfam EPS view lowered NEW YORK, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers analyst Edward White said he lowered his fiscal year 2000 earnings-per-share estimate for semiconductor equipment maker Speedfam-IPEC Inc. Thursday. -- In a report, he cut his estimate to a loss of $0.35 a share. His previous estimate had been for nil earnings a share. -- ``This adjustment in no way reflects a change in our positive outlook for Speedfam-IPEC. Our previous estimate was too aggressive, in particular our gross margin assumption,' he wrote. -- The company reported Wednesday a net loss of $11 million, or $0.37 a share, on revenues of $50.3 million. The earnings were in line with Wall Street forecasts, but below Lehman Brothers' estimate of a loss of $0.30 a share. -- Speedfam-IPEC shares were up 13/16 at 14-1/16.
