REPOST FROM YAHOO earthquake in Tao-Yaun Ford, Toyota by: mcphers733 (47/M) 582 of 582 My report is as follows as told me by UQM relations, with my interpretation.
We are very fortunate to have sustained little or no damage, little to no lives lost in UQM KYMCO factory.
Toyota does not use UQM technology. [I guessed that a head of time, there is other electric technology companies of which I know little other than they make a small disk shaped motor with high torque but very limited speed and range].
Ford, the future is there but at the time under wraps with talks underway at this time.
UQM technology is often hidden from view. The motor may be obvious but generators will be attached to the shaft,UQM technology will also assit power brakes, steering and inside of the fuel cell itself.
General UQM technology is presently in some form or other ao all GM, Ford Winstar and Cherokee vehicles. Honda also uses UQM parts in its latest autos.
UQM gears are used in heavy construction equipment in names like John Deer along with others. And of course elevators, gears today motors tomorrow.
Defense contracts on the one AV project will bring in 20 to 30 million a year.
Aero Space and Palm Pilots, yep.
Electric bikes? nope.
Electric scooters? more likely if.....
Profits in the future, but we will wait one quarter.
The new PR outfit is there for more than sending out PR on the wire, they are there to introduce UQM to the world of mutual funds. [I expect that to start working when,,,see profits in the future]
Well that's about it. The world of hybrid vehicles is still mostly in dream car stage, but we should start to see something in my estimate before New's Year. (:>)
I hope this post helps a bit, staying long. darrel |
