this is my interpretation of current events. i have read everything that i can find about rmbs, taiwan and the rambus ramp up.
since we all know the good stuff, i will concentrate on the negative first.
dell had a problem with their (in-house designed) motherboards for rmbs. this alone may have caused delays. they decided to go with problem free intel rambus motherboards short-term. i think intel's motherboards may be slow in delivery "very" short -term because i believe intel needs certain parts from taiwan to build them, and taiwan has an earthquake problem. of course the same earthquake problem may be devastating to rambus' competition, via. i understand virtually all via's production is taiwanese. i was told intel does not produce the mobo's in taiwan so intel's production facilities are ok. i was also told that power is returning to the taiwan factories and repairs are underway as i type this. the entire taiwanese economy is computer dependent and they are hauling butt to get the factories going again. i see this as a temporary problem that may have already ended.
in terms of rmbs, imo, this will mean little or nothing. i say this confidently because i believe dell has found the problem and is resuming their own mobo production. i already know of other rambus mobo's that are for sale in the market.
the industry ramp up of rambus rdram continues in a huge way. i believe that awesome "rambus is faster" press releases are scheduled for this weekend continuing well into the future from a variety of companies involved.
within a few days, i expect all nerds to be educating themselves on rmbs so they can be a hero to their neighbors and friends.
30 days from now the coppermine cpu is scheduled to be released. i believe this event will once and for all dispel all the fud and bs regarding rambus performance and the need for rambus bandwidth.
if the market tanks tomorrow, keep this in mind, we have 5,038,000 shorts protecting the downside. we only need them until the media blitz begins...imo that will begin over the weekend. they need you to sell so they can cover their short sale profitably. the fud may get thicker as they become more desperate during the day tomorrow.
you have to be suicidal to be short rambus going into next week. share price swings may be quick and violent to the upside before the close tomorrow.
rambus has won the memory war. over 100 of the finest tech companies are heavily involved. this has been a great learning experience for me. i plan to keep posting but not at the same level.. i will devote more time now to my passions...my bride,
fishing and 4 and a 1/2 grandsons.
when coppermine is released in october, i will purchase a camino + rdram + coppermine pc just to be able to check dan3's and kznerd's stopwatches. i plan to give my old and slow 450 to two grandsons for Christmas.

i spent 20 years in the "A" teams. this has been the most organized/unorganized effort i have ever been involved in for any endeavor. i sincerely thank everyone. i have received information from so many sources....i thank you all. i want to assure you i have permanently erased all sources from my hard drive.

for whatever reasons, that i do not question, a number of folks have chosen me as their thread outlet. i am honored and grateful for the opportunity. again, i thank all of you for all of the info sharing. this is not goodbye, i volunteer to continue but on a less intense schedule.

sure losers win a game ocassionally, but they are called losers for a reason.
rambus imo is a winner. i wish everyone good luck with rmbs in 2001 and 2002.
i will be fishing waiting for my payday.
