Attention all Technical Analysis fans -- I would just like to try to get something "on the record" before 9:30 A.M. (New York time) Friday morning.

Is it clear that the vast majority of TA types think it is a high probability event that the stock market is going down enough (real soon) so that a decision to "sell everything" on the close today will turn out to have been the correct economic decision (let's ignore tax considerations) ?

I heard Ron Insana (on CNBC) talking with Richard Russell (on the phone, from La Jolla) around 15 minutes before the NYSE close today.

Assuming I heard correctly -- Richard Russell said : Dow Theory indicates -- we should now be in a primary bear market. Dow Jones should go down to at least 7500.

So ... if and when nothing profound happens now, I just want to confirm -- does TA imply this is it right now (bear market) ?

Jon.
