In case you can't tell, I think that the Taiwan Earthquake is going to be extraordinarily bullish for some of the equipment companies. Ian

RE <<<First the maintenance services in Taiwan will be billable. Second, I believe that fabs will put more urgency on expanding rather than outsourcing - especially to an earthquake prone region. [Oops, isn't that where they built Silicon Valley?]>>>

Aren't most of the fabs in earthquake prone areas....Singapore/Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Pacific Northwest.
I agree the equipment makers will benefit but how are chipmakers (esp the small ones) going to get around the high cost of building fabs?
Isn't that why a lot of companies are fabless?

Actually now that I read this post, I like your post and its vision better. Lets hope tomorrow is a better trading day than today.

Good luck.
