Gottfried, you indicate a big "maybe" as to if the effected semi-mfrs
have to order new equipment. "If" they do (and I suspect they do) the
next question is "when" will they order? Remember, they have to rebuild facilities, train replacement workers for those lost, and
arrange financing. If financing becomes a problem, KLIC will be in
a position of having to provide a large part of the cost of the
equipment with deferred payments, at best. This could mean an immediate cost factor to KLIC without concomittent revenue.
This scenario would apply to the whole industry, interferring with
an industry-wide recovery.
Could be others see it this way also; resulting in today's equipment-makers downdraft!!
