You've touched one of my nerves with the "icky" part. I was just lying in bed, half-awake, half-asleep, trying to think of a good name for just that quality. A sort of schmoozy oil is settling on the thread. A sort of oleagenous dumbing down. Hummel figurines. Clown paintings. McDonald's hamburgers. Why is it so dreadful, and why is it so ubiquitous?

You, on the other hand, are tart, and crisp, sharp, and bitter. You remind me of cinnamon, of quinine, of lavender, and mint. I admire your courage.
