Chaz,

<< What do Outlook and ACT do? >>

Sorry about that.

Outlook is Microsoft's high end e-mail client (comparable to Qualcomm Eudora) but on steroids since it is also a Personal Information Manager (PIM) that acts as a database, scheduler, etc. It is now a part of the Microsoft Office Suite in MSO 2000. Typically if you are running IE 5 and MSO 2000 (or earlier versions) you will use Outlook (rather than Outlook Express) as mail client

ACT! is Symantec's Contact Management software. It is a specialized database for managing contacts which integrates with Word and Outlook. Very widely used in sales. It is one of those applications that successfully migrated from DOS to Windows.
