Problem is probably US regs on reporting - why should they get caught up in US red tape. Especially since they are investing in the US markets. That way they can be truly "off-shore".

Note that this bank does more than have this new investment system. I was following it because of my interest in a company, ETFC (Eurotrade and Forfaiting). MFC recently announced that it was going to finance ETFC's expansion, through acquisition of a Berlin based trading group with offices throughout the world. See averyltd.com and averyltd.com (third paragraph from the end).

Think MFC making some good moves with this and its broader business. The other thing I like is their recent tie in with one of the oldest banks in Switzerland, Canton.

With the global economy growing, this type of banking network is the mortar that pulls together building blocks from all over the world. It is definitely worth keeping an eye on - and possibly putting in some pennies for the future. IMO.
