CableTel Communications' (TTV) Stirling Subsidiary
To Supply Connectors To Charter Communications

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--

Additional Business Valued at up to US$5 Million Annually Should Double Stirling's Revenues

Cabletel Communications (AMEX:TTV,TSE: TTV) today announced that the Company's manufacturing division, Stirling
Connectors, has been approved to be a supplier to Charter Communications Inc., the fourth largest cable operator in the U.S.
The additional business to Cabletel could be valued at up to US$5 million per year and should double Stirling's revenues in
2000.

After a lengthy and extensive test process, Charter Communications, which provides cable services to approximately 6.2
million U.S. customers, has given the green light to its buyers to purchase equipment produced by Stirling Connectors. ''The
formal approval of our Stirling products is a significant decision. In addition to creating a tremendous revenue opportunity,
receiving the endorsement of Charter adds credibility to the stature of Stirling Connectors'' said Greg Walling, President of
Cabletel.

Cabletel submitted products for testing to Charter after working with NRG Controls, Cabletel's master distributor in the U.S.
Jim Oglesby, President of NRG Control Co. said, ''the formal approval by Charter will allow us to aggressively market Stirling
products to all of Charter's various systems throughout the U.S.''
