WHERE"S THE HEATED ECONOMY?.....U.S. home sales down for second month in a row WASHINGTON, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Sales of previously owned U.S. homes dropped sharply in August for the second month in a row as higher interest rates helped to cool the housing market, a realtors' group said on Friday. The National Association of Realtors said that existing home sales declined 2.8 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.25 million units after a drop of 4.1 percent in July.
