I watch it but never tried to base trades on it. It indicates amount of fear but I have never been able to time critically enough for my entries with it. I generally scalp trade so I need to know within seconds of where the likely tops and bottoms are. For day to day, I generally use my own indicators and chart patterns. Sorry I can't help more. I think Matt watches it fairly close so maybe he can comment. Good Luck, Lee PS - Just walked in the door so no idea about the market yet although I did notice there is still a lot of buy the dipsters here since AOL was up 6+ today. Money is fleeing to the bond yada yada yada. Doesn't look like a bottom yet to me at a quick glance.
