I wouldn't be too sure about the "plot" part. I've heard rumors of companies they are interested in, but valuation prevents their participation. What amazes me is the amount of analyst support he got. He says this in private (which is fine...say it to analysts - that's his job) But to say it publicly in a fashion that can move markets? There is clearly more at work. He is a very savvy fellow not known for gaffes.
