One more problem I thought of on the ATI/GTE thing is that all these carriers are in some cities on opossing bands, in San Diego, ATI is B carrier while GTE is A carrier. the FCC rules are quite strict here, so that if they operate as one entity, they may have to give up their spectrum to another carrier and operate on a single band. I am not sure this is true, but if ATI and GTE merge in SD, then they will go from 25 Mhz down to 12.5 Mhz.

As for internet applicances, it may not be int he cards if they sell off the handset division. Euorpeans favor what is home grown over anything that works, as we have all seen over the last few years....

WAP is the european version of Phone.com solicited by Phone.com...
