Do you agree that 2 major airlines cannot operate and make shareholders happy in this small country? If so, you need to understand that this is a good deal for both companies.

What are you saying that government is doing with Onex? On the contrary, they have finally opened the gates for AC and CA to start discussions. I'll agree, the government has protected Ca from going under, but what is done, is done, and it is now time for AC, and its shareholders, to get a hold of the Asian market, have great partners who will fly passengers to Vancouver, for the new AC to fly them to Asia. That's virtually free money. Remember, AA does not have a hold of Asia, and they will give you free passengers, the kind where you need only get an airplane, cook some food, play some movies, and reap the rewards.

5,000 jobs will be lost through early retirement and stuff. Big deal. You wanna talk about propaganda, look at you and your fear of lost jobs, you know just as well as me that they are not real lost jobs, just some happy people going home to enjoy life.

One more thing, in business you cannot just look at a few people who will get to fish more, I mean, this is a wild field, and if something does not happen in Canada, we will not have a great airline like many other small countries have. Think of a Canadian KLM or Swissair. In other words, stop playing peoples emotions (i.e. job losses), and start discussing business.

later,
swid
