The cell-phone craze does not consist merely of selling the instruments. Nor is it confined to service companies such as Cellcom. A niche that in many countries is a virtual newcomer is that of voice mail boxes, and all their related sophisticated services. These services, perfectly familiar in Israel, are almost unknown in many other countries. In this context I recommend Comverse (CMVT) which has access to gigantic markets, where not even the outermost surface has been grazed.
In Japan, for instance, currently in a profound recession, the number of cellular telephone users never stops increasing by double-digit percentages. China and South America are also enormous target markets for Comverse, as also, of course, are Europe and the United States. US and European telephony companies are eager for all means of boosting customers' air time, and what could be better than a voice mailbox, letting no call escape, installed in an ordinary or a cellular telephone.
