You mention real concerns that people may have. I think the thing to think about is the alternative: having a cold last a helluva lot longer. Think about all those kleenexes, hawked loogies, aches, pains and lost productiveness. The little messiness that may (or may not - I personally do not find it messy) be associated with a few doses should be balanced with the personal comfort and happiness that come with being cold-free up to about 10 days faster. Not everything works functionally for all people. I know someone who will not take intranasal medicine. I also know hundreds and hundreds who do and would. I am glad your friend stuck it out to get results.
