Limtex, I cannot answer the Coolpix problem for you since I am not a Nikon owner. I would e-mail Nikon to see if there is a known software conflict or firmware upgrade. I know that SNDK does extensive testing with new products and suspect this problem would have been identified earlier if it was happening routinely. One option is to try to use your camera with the LCD off and not scroll through images unless you really need the card space (and delete images on the fly). I use my computer hard drive to store raw photos, but because my camera is a lower resolution it takes up less space. Are you shooting raw .tiff images??? I will upgrade to a nicer camera soon and expect to use either Zip disks (I have a Zip bay I added to my tower) or possibly a CD-R drive so I can make copies to send to my folks. I have not invested in a CD burner just yet, but this seems to be a reasonable option as the media is cheap and can be read in any PC. If you own a Zip drive I'd try to wade through the installation. If you are not up to that I really have no other immediate suggestions unless you are willing to install an LS120 drive or buy another free standing storage solution.
