Stockid,

I suspect there will be one less reason to continue dropping prices.
Consolidation in redundant business, and the elimination of others no longer required. I think it is good for MCIWorlcom and Sprint, and bad for some employees. There will most certainly be cuts if this happens. Some other employees will probably belong to parts of the company that are sold off to satisfy the governing bodies.

I think is is neutral for Qwest, but may also help a little bit. I know that sounds strange, but MCI was built on competition, and is used to it. I was never with Worldcom, but I am certain they know what competition is about too. The US Government tends to frown on monopolies - ask Microsoft! So the Federal Government, State Governments, Foreign Governments, FCC, and other regulators will not allow Bernie Ebbers to buy every business there is!

I think Qwest has more to worry about with ATT/TCI in the long run. I am not the least concerned. I am in Qwest for the long haul.

JMO
