I think it is very telling about current market conditions that someone like Ballmer can cause stocks to crumble. What he said is very true which is why the market reacted the way it did. If the stocks were not overvalued then the market would've ignored his comment. Obviously, his comment wasn't the only reason the market sold off. People are nervous as they should be at a market top and will use any excuse to sell. This is not the sign of a strong market, and indeed the deteriorating technicals bear this out. Anyone who believes that stock price growth can continue to outpace earnings growth by a wide margin is living in a fantasy world.
