I haven't had many problems with strays out here. I pretty much know what dog goes where. Some of them do roam and if they become pests I shoot them with the BB gun.

When I lived in town there was a dog with a long, silky, white coat that used to get in my garden. A friend had some salmon that had gotten freezer burned and I tossed them on my compost pile. A few days later here comes that dog and oh boy did he have fun rolling on those rotten fish. Rotten fish, horse manure and old grass clippings. Never saw him again.

I'm glad you got rid of that dog. That ringworm could have spread to your other animals and that would have been a mess.
