"Margin Call City"

A question for all:
There were several mentions Friday that a lot of margin calls were going out. I'm told that different brokerages have different policies about these things. My broker will let equity go down to 30%, but then when the margin call comes, you must add cash or sell assets to bring equity up to 50%, not 30%. And you have three days to do it.

If this is generally true, and many received margin calls Friday, what should we expect to see next week?
If margin calls were generated in large numbers, will sales be forced in spite of a small bounce (to get equity back up to 50%), resulting in more margin calls, forced sales, etc?

All opinions appreciated

regards,
diana (who didn't get a margin call, and wants to buy more FLC if she can get it a little cheaper.)
