I don't. I just used the 30,000 figure as a general figure. It could be a bit more or a bit less, but with larger populations it seems to me that the chances of being victimized become much greater. Also, communities of that size are also bound to have a more complicated transportation system.

I remember when living in Kansas and going to Wichita (population in excess of 300,000) that my hands would start sweating and I would have this feeling of unexplainable anxiety as soon as I would come to a stop at the first light near the point where the sprawl would become evident.

Of course, being a little older, it doesn't bother me like it used to, but then I'm also more familiar with the community. There is still one place coming off of 235 (if I remember correctly) where it intersects with 54 that still makes me nervous. I usually try to travel at night during those infrequent occasions so the traffic will be to a lesser extent.

However, to make the point about larger communities, I'll purposely drive 50 miles or more out of my way just to avoid having to drive through them or take the chance of being laid over in them.
