Carl:
The problem I have with current state of affairs is that specifications for the Dell Optiplex Dell PC's announced prematurely on their web site had PC700 RDRAM in them. If PC700 is unstable with 3 RIMM's occupied, PC800 must be nightmare or at least more problematic.
Also, 9 months ago, we heard Intel tell us about the wonderful future with the Carmel chipset, Bringantine motherboard enclosed in WTX chassis. If you do a web search on these, it is bleak in terms of recent links. For example, you go to Supermicro web site, they list samples of WTX chassis available for June. I am finding it harder and harder to believe that Intel is making forward progress with this workstation platform since it has two RDRAM channels. The engineering issues delaying Carmel must be an order of magnitude greater than Camino.
