It would make sense that Intel would want to shrink the Celeron to .18u and add the SIMD features while still allowing low cost differentiation. I expect the original plan was to keep it on the 100MHz FSB and with the smaller L2 it would distinguish it from CuMine. Subject to change now in light of current events....
