>>>My question is do you think aware is really a bad company??? And do you think that when things are played out that there might be room for aware and amati to both be big winners in thsi game of ADSL??>>>

I never know how to judge a stock short-term. Obviously if you'd held AWRE last week, you'd be happy right now. As for long term, I'd certainly want to see Aware's products up and running, or talk to someone who had, before investing. I'd want to know which trials they're in and know the results. I'd want to look at each partnership carefully and talk to the CEOs of each company to know exactly how they viewed the alliances. PairGain's Strauch said their partnership with Aware was simply a hedge and that they were developing their own ADSL in-house. I might also want to find out about Aware's management team.

Apart from all this, will Aware be a winner in the ADSL game? I'm not the one to say. I do believe the market is enormous and there will be many niches they can capture. Right now they have a trial going in an elementary school near Boston. They also have a trial in Colorado with a CLEC, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The independents are a great market. Perhaps they'll capture this. And if USR does, indeed, use their DMT they'll be paid something.

Bottom line, I can't tell anyone how to invest. I can only make decisions for myself. There's a lot I don't know.

Cheers!

Pat
