Well, we used to have a healthy market till AG step in to give his comment about the valuation of the market from time to time, and now the CEO of Microsoft , talking about the valuation of Microsoft's stock and its competitors'. Pretty soon, the CEOs of IBM, ORCL, DELL , INTEL will learn quick and try to degrade the valuation of their competitors' stock . The stock price should be decided by the market, and the valuation of the stock is decided right after the stock is bought or sold, and it is changed from time to time dynamically, and decided by the market. If the investor like to buy MSFT at $96, then the valuation of Microsoft at $96 is reasonable to that special investor. The responsibility of the CEO is to manage / grow the company , and bring value to its investors. As to the valuation of the stock , it is non of the business of the CEO, and let the market force do the job. I hope this is the last time a Microsoft's executive talked about the stock or Hi Tech stocks in general in public !!! If Steve like to comment on the stock market , well, he should quit Microsoft and join Wall Street. |
