valueman and Peter. I suggest you contact AT&T and possibly the UWCC if you want to argue. I do have a masters in telecom and worked in the field; so I continue to have contacts in this arena. Outrageous to you or not the proof is in the buildout. Possibly you've been reading too many of the same information day after day without properly weighing all sides of the issue. I didn't say that CDMA wasn't justified in certain circumstances; but to claim that CDMA is more cost efficient in ALL circumstances, as we've been reading from the CDMAers for months, simply isn't true. By the way ADI just introduced the orthello for the GSM which creates a significant number of enhancements for GSM/TDMA based phones. Chip will be available next year. Allows for direct connection and one step down, elimates a significant number of internal parts, decreases weight of phones by nearly 50%, and so on. They stated they are first introducing the chip as nearly 200 million GSM based phones will be sold next year. CDMA may come later, much later.
