Flip Chip packaging solves this problem, but it is still a small percentage of the total packaging market. The major MPU and ASIC manufacturers do use it though.

Can any of you fathom why CYMI got dumped on during this correction, along with every other equipment company, with the exception of ASML?

Nope, can't figure it out, except that Cymer is rather illiquid compared to the bigger names. So when people get scared about the market or equipment sector, even small trades can move this stock down in a hurry. Should be an advantage on the next up move though. I like to watch Cymer's relative performance to the sector through this guy's weekly postings on the FSII thread.

BTW, institutional ownership of Cymer is close to the 62% level now after having been close to 10%(I believe I saw 13% at one point, but am not positive about that) in the darker days of last year.
