Heck, the dow dropped 1000 points and ppd is going for new highs. The shorts are in a hole here. They have more than two million shares shorted. The effective float should be about 8 million shares. If the price keeps going up they can't keep shorting for ever. At some point they have to cover and the price is going to zoom up.

In addition, ppd has a share buy back plan. They bought back about one million shares at about 26. They made a good return on their investment already.

Moreover there is a lot of insider buying going on. As per valuation S&P has a fair value for ppd of about $56. In my humble opinion shorts are in for some pain here shortly.
