Lizzie, the Tom Tallant URL article does talk about AOL, Excite etc.

It is a given that AOL has requested of its shareholders to increase the number of shares so that they can negotiate some broadband deal. Most likely with ATT and buyout the the contract with Excite@Home which ATT is obligated to honor until 2002. (Sounds like a sports contract, isn't it?
So AOL buys off the Excite infrastructure as it fits their line of business and leave ATT and ATHM alone so that they can go and lay the cables to every American home.

Remember the campaign that ATHM embarked about 2 months ago when they came on TV here in the SF Bay area to advertise that they will pay for AOL membership till the end of the year if we signed up with ATHM.

Looks like they will ink a deal by the end of the year and in that case $200 that analysts have been predicting all along will become a reality.

Too early to wish Merry Christmas!!!
