MCD got their 15 minutes of fame with their fake 55 cent burger deal media blitz. When a local newspaper agrees with us on the lousy promotion, what else can we say? We told you so? MCD's management will come up with another cocamanie idea when the realize that this one is a loser. Meanwhile FM will continue to rebuild their position in the marketplace because they have a focused plan that works. MCD's problem is not lack of ability to attract customers through slick advertising (but it could be imporved). Their main problem is that the don't deliver the goods when the customer comes in the front door. Arnie P.S. I agree that FM has shown tremendous strength in the recent downdraft. 12? This stock is going higher than that in '97. IMHO 20 isn't out of the question for '98.
